Crown Towers, One Barangaroo
Sydney will be graced by the new Crown Towers, also known as One Barangaroo, on the redevelopment site of previous warehousing docks. As part of the redevelopment, Crown Towers will be the focal point, creating a new icon for Sydney to counterpoint the Opera House and Sydney Bridge. The development hosts a luxurious hotel, casino, residences, as well as retail and dining venues.
St. Legere Design International, working with WilkinsonEyre Architect (London), and Meyer Davis Interiors (New York), developed the several levels of landscape. This includes the street level Porte Cochere, and three ground floor main terraces facing the harbour that will host two high-end restaurants and the hotel lounge bar terrace. There are two levels of swimming pools, one for the hotel and one for the residences, on the 3rd and 4th floors over the casinos and ballrooms. This required extensive coordination with structure to accommodate the large bodies of water, each of which are designed with horizon overflows, connecting you directly to the harbour views. Each level hosts private cabanas, wet pool decks, and whirlpools for resident’s and guest’s enjoyment.
The fourth floor terrace also includes a Tennis Court that also functions as an event space, with stage, proscenium, and serves as a tennis viewing platform. An adjacent venue with artfully design canopy that can serve for weddings as well as small gatherings and events. Fashioning these types of venues as luxurious places to have events allows the hotel to attract more guests as well as generating more revenue.
The 24th floor restaurant and lounge offers another outdoor venue for dining and lounging, with an unparalleled view to the Opera House and Sydney Bridge. St. Legere developed a terraced arrangement to facilitate different venues at the same time, while allowing the space to be fulling integrated, allowing maximum flexibility for hotel operations.
Also with awesome views is the 69th floor private penthouse terrace, with its own private whirlpool, sunning deck, al fresco dining and lounge areas, creating the utmost luxurious experience.
